U.S. is experiencing a catastrophic shortage in engineers, scientists,
and technologically proficient workers. Baby boomers in these fields
are retiring in record numbers and there aren't any available professionals-or
college graduates-to fill their ranks.
Companies and professional societies are getting increasingly involved in K-12 education as a means of workforce development. Tennessee Valley BEST receives no funding from Auburn University, Calhoun Community College or the state.
